TMNET: A step backwards
We were asked to change our lifestyle when the fuel price shot up, and now I suppose I have to change my lifestyle and use back dail-up instead of ADSL. TMNET support staff are polite but unhelpful. This afternoon I received a call regarding my SECOND report for the past 7 days. The woman on the phone say the technician have reseted the port.
I quickly said that this is the 2nd time! Reseting the port will NOT solve the problem it will only ease the pain…for 30 minutes MAX! She also mention about me being able to connect for 8 hours straight on my 1st report. Well, what’s the point if I am connected for 8 hours but having a 20% loss packet??! After some discussion she said the technician will look into the problem. @_@ No timeframe on when it will be resolved.
Guess what? I was right after all. After I hang up, I reset my router and do a ping test to tm.net.my. Woohoo! Even ping to google.com comes back to less than 100ms latency. That is really really good. No lost packet as well.
30 minutes later…
Hey… what’s happening? Why is my gmail stuck? Why I cant access yahoo? Why there is a 100% loss packet? At the very moment of writing, I am actually using TIME.NET free dailer to access Internet. Yes, I am “changing” my lifestyle…. Last night I did try to play Dota with TM.NET dail-up, and yes it was much more RELIABLE and no loss packet. I manage to finish the game without any latency (on the other hand, TIME.NET dail-up lags). So in this example, Dail-up owned Streamyx ADSL. I emailed Jaring to request for my lost dail-up password and am also planning to buy a prepaid TMNET dail-up card. I have no choice. I depend alot on my Internet connection at home… for work and for leisure. So it is CRUCIAL that I am connected!
I will wait till tomorrow morning before I make my THIRD report on Streamyx. Why can’t they do it right on the 1st time huh? Wasting resources and my precious time.
