When age matters

When you are a kid, you can’t wait to be a teen.

When you are a teen, you can’t wait to get your dad’s car keys and drink beer.

When you are in ur 30s, you can’t wait to get married and have kids.

When you are in ur 40s, you can’t wait to finally pay off that loan and get that deed for YOUR house.
When you are in ur 50s, you can’t wait to see your children graduated and get that EPF savings.

When you are in ur 60s, you wish you had saved more money.

When you are in ur 70s, you wish you had exercised more.

When you are in ur 80s, you think you had enough and hope you would pass away peacefully before your insurances matured.
When you are in ur 90s, you should be pretty happy seeing your grandchildren playing around and thinking that heaven is waiting for you. If you could live so long, you must be a good person right?

When you are in ur 100s, you shouldn’t be reading this.

I got this project… which I thought I could get. My ideas were good, I am confident that my company could deliver the solution… and had future plans ready to be implemented when their company grow. But it seems that I lack of one thing.

I wasn’t old enough to prove that I could handle it.

On my 21st birthday a couple of years ago, I thought that … hey, I am an adult… I could do ANYTHING. And I did. I did spent my final year overseas, I did get a job on the field which I wanted, I did get my own car.

But…

Even when you are an adult and can legally do alot of things… there are alot of things which you still can’t control. Like the Perception others have in you. Now I finally understood when others told me “Shouldn’t you work for a couple of years more before you start your own company?”

I thought it was about the experience, skill or confidence, but I was wrong. To start a company, you need to be… OLD. So they are really saying “Shouldn’t you wait till you are a little older before you start your own company?”

Well, today… 23 May 2006… 1.20am, Patch IT Sdn Bhd’s Managing Director said:
“Microsoft was founded when Bill Gates was 19.” - Blake, when was told he is too young.

Some people have no idea what the people in their 20s can do. We’re now at the best stage in our life to make the changes.

Don’t worry man. The 40s are just jealous.
